Honor has officially launched both the Honor Magic 7 and Magic 7 Pro on 30 Ocotober 2024 in China. The series is now available to pre-order, with official sales starting on 8 November 2024.

For context, here’s when the previous generations were launched in Europe:
- Honor Magic 3: August 2021
- Honor Magic 4: February 2022
- Honor Magic 5: February 2023
However, don’t expect any of the phones to ever be available in North America – Honor doesn’t sell its devices there.

What specs and features will the Honor Magic 7 have?
Design
The Honor Magic 7 series shares a similar design to the previous models, with a flat edge frame that’s joined by rounded corners, a large camera module and a sort of marble effect rear cover.
The series also brings a refined, durable design with an IP68/IP69 rating, offering dust and water resistance even against high-temperature water jets.
This is a significant improvement over the previous generation, making the phones more resilient in various conditions.
Display
The Honor Magic 7 features a 6.78-inch flat LTPO OLED display with a 1-120Hz refresh rate and a 1,264 x 2,800px resolution.
Meanwhile, the Pro model sports a slightly larger 6.8-inch LTPO OLED display, offering up to 5,000 nits peak brightness for HDR content, a notable boost for outdoor viewing.
Honor
Both displays offer 10-bit colour and are enhanced with high-frequency PWM dimming (4,320Hz) to reduce flicker and eye strain.
The Pro model includes a micro quad-curved design, adding an aesthetic edge.
Performance
Powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite, both the Magic 7 and Magic 7 Pro leverage advanced NPU (Neural Processing Unit) capabilities for AI-driven features.
The chipset enhances everything from the digital assistant’s performance to photo processing, enabling a smoother and more responsive user experience across applications.
Honor
Depending on the model, the series ranges from as low as 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage.
Cameras
The Magic 7 model features a 50Mp main camera, 50MP ultrawide, and a 50Mp telephoto lens, though the zoom is capped at 50x digital.
The telephoto is a 68mm unit with 3x optical zoom and OIS, ideal for mid-range zoom photography.
The front camera on both models is a 50Mp sensor with a 90° wide lens and advanced facial recognition.
Honor
The Magic 7 Pro’s standout feature is its 200Mp telephoto camera with a large 1/1.4” sensor and 60mm lens, offering a 2.5x optical zoom that can extend up to 100x digital zoom.
This telephoto upgrade from the 180Mp in the Magic 6 Pro provides higher resolution and better low-light performance.
The main camera is a 50Mp sensor with a variable aperture (f/1.4-f/2.0), alongside a 50Mp ultrawide lens (122°) that supports macro photography.
Battery & Charging
The Magic 7 Pro packs a 5,850mAh battery (250mAh larger than its predecessor), while the Magic 7 includes a 5,650mAh battery.
Honor
Both models support 100W wired charging and 80W wireless charging.
Software
Both the Honor Magic 7 and Magic 7 Pro run on the latest MagicOS 9.0, built on Android 15 with enhanced AI features enabled by the Snapdragon 8 Elite.
At the forefront of MagicOS 9.0 is the evolved Yoyo AI Agent, which now handles complex, autonomous tasks with an improved understanding of user context, preferences, and habits. For instance, Yoyo can perform complete tasks like ordering and paying for coffee from a favorite café.
Another breakthrough is the integration of MagicLM, a suite of large language models embedded at the system level. MagicLM enhances the AI’s ability to process and interact across different media types, including text, visuals, and audio.
Unlike more restrictive AI ecosystems, MagicOS 9.0’s open AI platform enables Yoyo to operate with third-party apps, providing a fluid user experience. There’s of course more, so take a closer look at what big AI upgrade your Honor phone is set to get for free.
However, it’s unclear if Honor will continue with the Magic 6 Pro‘s policy of four years of OS updates and five years of security updates from its launch date.
